Usually when I rent a car it’s a compact or small crossover. I’m at a conference in the DFW area with several co-workers so we got this beast. Definitely fits right in.
It’s ok but I wish the V8 made its presence more known.

It actually is a V6 EcoBoost. The V8 would never have made its presence known.

A few years ago I went to Maui with a bunch of family so I rented a Yukon XL to carry everybody. Never has a car been so ill suited to its environment. Trying to navigate the island’s tight parking lots and roads in that giant was a huge pain in the ass, but it did provide the seating we needed.

Should have got a Suburban. It was great for Florida, it soaked up hwy miles wonderfully.
It was very quiet at low RPMs, but floor it and it makes a great V8 noise. It also hauled 6 adults + luggage easily.

The V8 isn’t making its presence known because it doesn’t exist. There’s a 3.5L V6 EcoBoost under the hood.
On another note, my mom got one of these as a service loaner while her Fusion was being worked on. I absolutely got addicted to listening to the turbos spool up. I really loved the whole truck to be quite honest despite how dated they are.

I was offered the upgrade but really didn’t need it. 5 ppl, not much luggage. Personally I’d rather have gotten a Camaro for myself and the others can shuttle themselves around...

Whaaaa I’m shocked! I didn’t think they’d put anything other than 8 cylinders in there. In that case... It’s acceptable performance but noise is still lacking.

Thanks - I made an assumption.

No problem.
